Bill MillerBILL MILLER

A native Texan, Father Bill Miller is an episcopal priest and writer who lives on the island of Kauai with his dog, Nawiliwili Nelson. He served the multicultural and historically African-American St. James parish in Austin for seven years and historic Trinity Church on Main Street in Midtown Houston for six.  During his tenure, both parishes experienced dramatic growth and became centers of artistic expression. He presently serves as Rector of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Kauai.  Fr. Bill is the author of a popular book "The Gospel According to Sam: Animal Stories for the Soul" and he is a noted public speaker. The relationship between creativity, music, and spirituality has been a motivating and unifying force in his life and work. He has initiated successful Jazz Festivals and Jazz Masses in Texas and Hawaii and spent a period of time as a frustrated and untalented singer/songwriter. He is presently working on a new collection of essays titled "The Beer Drinker's Guide to God" and a book of love poetry called "You Had Me at Do Me a Favor and Lose My Information"  Other than Kauai, his favorite place is Marfa, Texas. He is particularly passionate about Texas music. Padre's is the culmination of his long-time vision.
